So guys, I turned 57 on the 12th. I don’t feel that age and when I tell people how old I am they often don’t believe me—or at least that’s what they say!

As a surprise to me, Herman sent Steve Caporizzo (the chief meteorologist for Channel 10 TV news) a photo of me with my dog Oscar.

Imagine my surprise and delight when Steve was nice enough to include the picture on News 10 at 6 PM along with a very nice birthday wish. He was also kind enough to give my book, “In Kathryn’s Korner—A Memoir” a very nice plug for me. It’s available at Mysteries on Main Street in Johnstown, Canada Lake Store in Caroga Lake and online at Amazon.com and Lulu.com—but whenever possible I say, “shop locally!”

In the following several days I received birthday wishes from people who saw it on the news. Even when Herman and I went to get take-out Chinese at Asian Delight in Gloversville, the owner Anna was gracious enough to give me my dinner as a birthday gift—all because she saw it mentioned either on TV or Facebook—I’m not sure which.

When Herman asked me what I would like for my birthday, I simply said that I would like the driveway redone with gravel to smooth out the low spots. He contacted Steve Putman who came with a load of gravel and graded the driveway for us today (Thursday the 20th) and did a terrific job. Thank you Steve!

I also had a wonderful visit from my friend Terry who brought the gift of a T-shirt from her vacation in South Carolina (by the way, Terry and I share our birthdays on the 12th!) Terry also phoned with birthday wishes as did my sister Debbie!

I enclose a photo of Steve Caporizzo’s TV wishes for me and hope you all have as nice a birthday this year as I did!
